WordPress Help: Fixes, Tweaks & Troubleshooting

Your WordPress site is doing something it shouldn’t — or it’s not doing something it should — and you just need it sorted out.

This page is for fixes, tweaks, and troubleshooting on an existing WordPress site. If you need a full website built from scratch, that’s a separate service: WordPress Web Design.

WordPress help and troubleshooting

What I Fix

  • White screen of death or fatal error messages — the site is down and you have no idea why
  • Broken layout after an update — things looked fine yesterday, now the design is a mess
  • Plugin conflicts — two plugins are fighting each other and causing problems
  • Updates gone wrong — a WordPress core, theme, or plugin update broke something
  • Slow site speed — pages load too slowly and you’re losing visitors
  • Small customizations and tweaks — a layout change, a button, a font, a form adjustment
  • Backups not set up — getting a proper automated backup in place before something goes wrong

How It Works

1. Tell me what’s happening. — Send me a quick message describing the problem — what you see, what you expected, and when it started. No need to use technical language.

2. I take a look and give you a straight quote. — I’ll review the issue and come back to you with an honest flat-rate price before any work starts. If it turns out to be a bigger job than expected, I’ll tell you that upfront — including if it’d make more sense to rebuild something rather than patch it.

3. I fix it. — Once you’re happy with the quote, I get to work. Small issues are often turned around same-day or next-day. I’ll let you know what I found, what I fixed, and what you can do to avoid the same problem in future.

Why Me Instead of a Random Freelancer

A lot of WordPress freelancers fix the symptom and move on. I fix the actual cause — and then explain what happened in plain English so you’re not back in the same spot two months from now.

I won’t suggest extra work you don’t need. If the honest answer is ‘update your plugin and you’re done,’ that’s what I’ll tell you. You get one person from first message to finished fix — no hand-offs, no confusion.

I’m based in Faisalabad, Pakistan, and work remotely with US clients every day. Clear communication across time zones is something I take seriously, not an afterthought.

Pricing

Small, well-defined fixes are quoted as a flat rate before work begins — you know the price, and there’s no hourly meter ticking while I work. Larger jobs that involve several hours of work are quoted individually based on what’s actually involved. Either way, you’ll have a clear number to approve before I touch anything.

FAQ

How fast can you fix it?

Small issues — a broken layout, a plugin conflict, a white screen — are often resolved same-day or next-day once I have access. More complex problems take longer, and I’ll give you a realistic timeline when I quote the job. I won’t promise a turnaround I can’t deliver.

Do you need admin access to my site?

Yes. To diagnose and fix most WordPress issues I’ll need temporary WordPress admin access and usually hosting/cPanel access too. I’d recommend changing your passwords once the work is done — and I’ll remind you to do that. Handing over access is a normal part of working with any remote developer; I treat it with care.

Will it break again?

I fix the root cause, not just what’s visible on the surface. That said, WordPress sites need regular updates and reliable backups to stay healthy — no fix is permanent if maintenance gets ignored. I’ll point out anything that’s likely to cause trouble again and, if you want, set you up with a proper backup system before I finish.

Can you maintain my site monthly?

Yes. If you’d rather not think about updates, backups, and security checks, there’s a simple ongoing care option we can talk about. If you’d prefer to handle things yourself — or hand them off to someone on your team — I’ll walk you through exactly what needs doing so you’re not dependent on me.
